In Q3 2020, Hardline product recalls decreased by 22% in the EU and increased by 11% in the US, compared with Q2.
The EU saw 135 recalls, with the top categories being toys, food contact materials and machinery. The main risk for toys as well as food contact materials was chemical, while the main risk for machinery was cuts and injuries.
In the US, there were a total 40 recalls. There were 7 recalls for furniture items, including 2 chairs. The main risk was falling. In the home furnishings and houseware category, 6 different products were recalled, with the main risk being burns.
