QB/T 4552-2020 was released on December 9, 2020 and was officially implemented on April 1, 2021.

 SG 08321 Slippers

On Dec 9th, 2020 China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a product standard for Slippers QB/T 4552-2020 which became effective April 1, 2021. QB/T 4552-2020 replaced its previous edition QB/T 4552-2013.

The new version is applicable to slippers for daily use, excluding disposable slippers. 

Main Technical Changes

The main differences between QB/T 4552-2020 and QB/T 4552-2013:

  • The requirements for appearance quality were revised
  • The requirements and test methods for the pull-out force of the upper band are modified
  • The requirements and test methods for abrasion resistance of outsoles are modified
  • The requirements and test methods for anti-slip performance of outsoles are added
  • The requirements and test methods of colour fastness to rubbing of lining and insock are added
  • The requirement and test method of free or partially hydrolytic formaldehyde content were modified
  • The test method of peel strength of upper and sole is modified
  • The test method of odour was modified
  • The test method for the content of decomposable harmful aromatic amine dyes was modified
  • The inspection items and qualification judgment were modified
  • Added informative appendix "list of harmful aromatic amine dyes"

Pull-out force of the upper band

The pull-out force of slipper strap in cold gluing, sewing and gluing process shall not be less than 80N; the pull-out force of slipper strap in rivet assembly process shall not be less than 50N. If the material is torn and the band is not pulled out at the bonding part of the upper and bottom, the pull-out strength of the band shall not be less than 30n / cm.

Abrasion resistance of outsole

Length of abrasion ≤15.0mm, and the phenomenon of wearing through of the outsole shall not appear.

Slip resistance

Bathroom slippers and slippers with slip resistance function, the wet dynamic friction coefficient should not be less than 0.4.

Color fastness to rubbing of lining and insock

Suede leather: wet≥ Grade 2
Leather, textile, fur, artificial wool and other materials: wet≥ Grade 3

Odour

≤ Grade 3

Decomposable carcinogenic arylamines dyes

Textile ≤ 20 mg/kg
Leather, fur ≤ 30 mg/kg

With direct contact to skin ≤ 75 mg/kg
Without direct contact to skin ≤ 300 mg/kg 
(White sheared sheepskin 600 mg/kg)
