1、ILO Child Labour Convention Achieves Universal Ratification
All 187 member States of the International Labour Organization (ILO) have ratified the ILO Convention on the Worst Forms of Child Labour, 1999 (No.182). It is one of the ILO’s eight Fundamental Conventions. These cover the abolition of child labour, the elimination of forced labour, the abolition of work-related discrimination and the rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

2、ILO: Garment Export in Asia Dropped by 70 Percent in the First Half of 2020, Women Hit Hard on Garment Sector
The impact of COVID-19 on women in the garment industry has worsened due to underlying challenges including discrimination and harassment, underrepresentation of women’s voice, wage gaps as well as unevenly shared unpaid care and family obligations. Major buying countries’ imports from garment-exporting countries in Asia dropped by up to 70 per cent in the first half of 2020, due to COVID-19. This has led to a sharp increase in worker layoffs and dismissals while factories that have reopened are often operating at reduced workforce capacity.

3、COVID-19 Leads to Massive Labour Income Losses Worldwide
Global labour income is estimated to have declined by 10.7 per cent, or US$ 3.5 trillion, in the first three quarters of 2020, compared with the same period in 2019. The biggest drop was in lower-middle income countries, where the labour income losses reached 15.1 per cent. In Q3 of 2020, global working hour losses of 12.1 per cent (345 million FTE jobs) are expected. While fiscal stimulus packages have played a significant role in supporting economic activity and reducing the fall in working hours, they have been concentrated in high-income countries. The fiscal stimulus gap that threatens to increase inequality between richer and poorer countries.

4、WTO: World Merchandise Trade Rebounds Strongly in the Third Quarter, but Might be Short-lived
According to WTO, the Goods Trade Barometer’s current reading of 100.7 marks a dramatic improvement from the 84.5 recorded last August, which reflected collapsing trade and output in the second quarter as lockdowns and travel restrictions were employed to fight the virus. The latest reading indicates a strong rebound in trade in the third quarter as lockdowns were eased, but growth is likely to slow in the fourth quarter as pent-up demand is exhausted and inventory restocking is completed.

5、Ministry of Emergency Management Announces Four Kinds of Enterprises with High-risk Work Safety
MOEM requires that emergency management departments of all regions should focus on four kinds of enterprises with high-risk work safety, including enterprises subjected to administrative penalties of all kinds for several times, production and construction projects with illegal contracts and multiple subcontracts, newly established small enterprises or enterprises with new projects newly put into operation, as well as enterprises with different nominal directors and virtual directors.
