Uganda Resumes Pre-Export Verification of Conformity Program
According to the program, first introduced in 2010, all the goods subject to it, will have to be accompanied by Certificate of Conformity (CoC). UNBS officers at border points will verify certificates for integrity. No destination inspection is envisaged.
The aim of the program is to establish a quality import inspection regime that is in harmony with member states of the East African Community.
The regulated products under the Uganda PVoC program are as follows:
Toys, Electrical & Electronics, Automotive, Chemical Products, Mechanical Material and Gas Appliances, Textile, Leather, Plastic and Rubber, Furniture(Wood & Metal Articles), Paper and Stationary, Safety(Personal Protective)Equipment, Food and Food products, Used Products and Goods from the above list exempted from the Program(such as all raw materials and other products) See details from the regulated List.
