The Pre-Importation Inspection, Testing & Certification Program of goods of Iraq / Kurdistan Region (ICIGI) will be launched on January 15, 2012, SGS was appointed by Kurdistan Standardization and Quality Control Administration (KSQCA), to implement the program. All consignments arriving to Iraq / Kurdistan Region as from this date will be requested to present a CoC.

The General Authority for Standardization and Quality Control of the Ministry of Planning in Kurdistan Region Government and according to the authority given by the president of the Council of Ministers of Kurdistan Region, Iraq by the letter numbered (1674) on (7/7/2011), KSQCA has launched the program with the aim of protecting consumers, producers, environment, public safety and national economy from using substandard products as well as to restrict the importation of inferior, debased and fake products.

Kurdistan Standardization and Quality Control Administration (KSQCA) has appointed SGS for the Implementation of a Pre-Importation Inspection, Testing & Certification Program of Goods to Iraq /Kurdistan Region (ICIGI). The ICIGI Program is to be started on January 15, 2012.

The Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is a necessary to import goods into Iraq/Kurdistan Region and to clear goods through Customs.

The Categories of prodcuts to be imported to Iraq / Kurdistan Region are considered as regulated:

Toys, Electric and electronic products, Vehicles, tyres and parts, Construction products, Cosmetics, personal hygiene products and cleaning agents, Household hardware, Kitchenware, Chemicals, Textile and Footwear, Household burning fuels Appliances and others (all kinds of metallic cans and metallic covers).
