REACH Digest 3 A Diversified, Practical and Inspiring IT Tool
The first SVHC candidate list was released on 30 June 2008. ECHA invites all interested parties to voice their scientific comments on the identification of the substance as SVHC and any additional information related to exposures, safer alternatives and potential risks. The relevant information will be made available for public review after the comment period closed on 14 August 2008.
To protect human health and the environment, SVHC will subject to various statutory provisions under REACH. Please refer to our SCOOP “THREE REASONS TO REACH OUT SVHC IN YOUR PRODUCTS” dated May 2008 for detail. Considering these 16 SVHC candidates, performance chemicals such as plasticizes, flame retardants, biocides, and various functional additives may be intentionally or inadvertently introduced in various consumer products due to the complexities of both supply chain and manufacturing process.
To secure your sustainable competitive advantage, earlier management of SVHC in product is recommended. The tasks may comprise SVHC identification, substance substitution, material replacement, process modification, and supply chain management. Armed with strong expertise and remarkable technical support, SGS is able to offer a cost-effective SVHC screening solution as well as SVHC target quantification for consumer products.
