BRC Global Standard for Consumer Products Issue 2A Changes?
The new Standard was published on November 11, 2008 and designed to assess the ability of manufacturers and assembly packer to comply with product safety requirements and demonstrate due diligence. It covers the majority of non-food consumer products, household goods including everything from toys, plastic kitchenware to electronic apparatus, garment and textiles, and non-prescription drugs.
Certification to the BRC Global Standard for Consumer Products is now a fundamental requirement of many UK leading retailers plus many European purchasers. Developed by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), the standard requires:
Manufacturer to adopt a hazard and risk management system and the establishment of appropriate controls; Manufacturer to establish a documented and effective quality management system; The effective control of the site environment, product, process and personnel. For enquiries:
