SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has been selected by BorsodChem to provide independent assurance for its sustainability reporting in accordance with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
BorsodChem is a leading European chemical manufacturer, specializing in plastic raw materials and inorganic chemicals. This latest mandate reflects SGS’s growing leadership in ESG and sustainability services. Through its IMPACT NOW for sustainability offering, which is focused on climate, circularity, nature, and ESG assurance, SGS expects to generate at least CHF 600 million of additional sustainability revenue by 2027, compared to 2023.
This marks a significant expansion of the sustainability services SGS provides for BorsodChem in areas such as quality, environmental management, occupational health and safety, and energy performance. SGS will now provide BorsodChem with non-financial reporting and ESG assurance as well.
Géraldine Picaud, CEO of SGS, commented:
“We’re proud to support BorsodChem as it prepares for a new era of transparency and accountability. With our expertise in non-financial reporting and ESG assurance, we help clients navigate increasingly complex reporting requirements with confidence and credibility.”
