Creating a safe sleeping environment for babies and young children is a priority for parents, brands, retailers and manufacturers. Products used in these environments must address potential hazards while meeting applicable safety requirements. Businesses need to understand the changes in EN 16781:2026 – Textile childcare articles – Safety requirements and test methods for children's sleep bags used in a cot or similar sleeping environment and their implications for product safety and compliance.

In this webinar, expert Valérie Cimetiere will explore the key changes introduced by EN 16781:2026, alongside other developments affecting textile childcare articles and product safety.

First published in 2018, EN 16781 sets out safety requirements and test methods for children's sleep bags used in a cot or similar sleeping environment. Since its publication, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has reviewed and updated the standard, resulting in EN 16781:2026, which replaces the 2018 edition.

This webinar will cover the structure and scope of the updated standard, key changes and retained requirements, as well as wider developments in textile childcare safety.
