Driving digital transformation in construction
We are pleased to announce that The Jardine Engineering Corporation Limited (JEC) has successfully obtained ISO 19650-1:2018 and ISO 19650-2:2018 certification.
ISO 19650 is the international standard for information management using building information modeling (BIM), designed to enable effective and efficient management of construction projects. JEC is one of Hong Kong’s first engineering services providers to achieve this milestone. This achievement reinforces JEC’s leadership in engineering excellence and digital innovation, setting a benchmark for the region’s construction industry.
Building stronger systems and capabilities
The certification journey included a comprehensive gap analysis followed by Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessments. JEC treated the process as a strategic opportunity to refine documentation, strengthen internal capabilities and align its teams around consistent procedures and best practices.
Through our independent third-party audit, JEC developed a suite of BIM tools and templates, including BIM guidelines, a BIM Execution Plan (BEP) template and organizational information requirements (OIR). The team also introduced pre-BEP documents such as a BIM capability assessment form, mobilization plan, risk register and risk mitigation measures to enhance project management and risk control.
