As part of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is focused on advancing its mining and minerals industry. Our new commercial laboratory, located in Jeddah, will directly support these ambitions – ensuring local explorers and mining operations have access to world-class testing solutions.
By localizing advanced laboratory services, we are helping accelerate mineral development, reduce export dependency and shorten turnaround times.
This joint venture combines SGS’s global analytical expertise and mining life cycle services with Golden Compass’s regional strengths in mining operations, drilling, and exploration consultancy.
Precision starts with sample preparation
Launching in October, our sample preparation facility will offer clients a one-stop shop, to include sample pickup, handling, preparation, return and retention, along with various crushing and pulverizing options.
These essential front-end processes ensure sample integrity and support accurate, reliable geochemical analysis across rocks, ores, sediments, heavy minerals and more.

Full geochemistry lab completion in October
By mid-October, our full analytical lab will be operational, offering a comprehensive suite of geochemical assays, including gold, base metals and multi-element packages. All services will be delivered to our unparalleled rigorous quality standards, executed by our dedicated, locally-trained teams.
