This guidance demonstrates the integration of sustainability across its property development, management, hospitality and administrative operations, reflecting a strong corporate commitment to sustainable practices.
As consumers become more conscious of the environmental and social impacts of their purchases, there is a growing interest in buying from environmentally friendly and socially responsible brands. ISO 20400 provides guidance to organizations, regardless of their size or sector, on integrating sustainability into procurement practices. It is designed for stakeholders involved in, or affected by, procurement decisions and processes, promoting sustainability throughout the entire supply chain.
Sino Group successfully underwent an independent sustainable procurement assessment conducted by SGS and achieved an “Advanced” level performance rating under the ISO 20400 guidance. The recognition reflects the Group’s strong commitment to its sustainable procurement policy and strategy, as well as its effective integration of sustainability principles throughout procurement activities. The success can be attributed to:
- Integrated risk management: deeply embedding sustainability into procurement decisions, in line with the ISO 20400 framework
- Cross-subsidiary collaboration: efficiently coordinating a vast business network to ensure consistent implementation of standards
- Demonstrated transparency and credibility: ensuring accountability through independent, third-party audits
The recognition was presented to Hilary Pang, Group General Manager (Procurement & Administration) of Sino Group (right), by Miranda Kwan, Director of Business Assurance, SGS Hong Kong Limited (left).
