SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has launched a new EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) verification to help clients confirm their supply chain’s compliance readiness.
SGS is committed to helping clients navigate evolving global regulatory frameworks. Delivered through its IMPACT NOW suite of sustainability services, this new verification strengthens SGS’s ability to provide clients with robust solutions aligned with the four key pillars of Climate, Circularity, Nature, and ESG Assurance. SGS expects to generate at least CHF 600 million in additional sustainability-related revenue by 2027 compared to 2023.
The EUDR mandates that companies placing key commodities on the EU market must ensure their products are deforestation-free, traceable and legally sourced. SGS’ services provide businesses with independent, science-based assurance that they and their supply chains meet these stringent requirements.
EUDR obligations will be enforced on 30 December 2025 for large operators, and 30 June 2026 for micro and small enterprises. With the EUDR enforcement deadline approaching, businesses are strongly encouraged to take early action to manage risk, maintain EU market access, and enhance supply chain transparency.
Géraldine Picaud, CEO of SGS, commented:
“Our EUDR Chain of Custody Verification is a key addition to our IMPACT NOW sustainability services. It supports companies not only in complying with a critical piece of regulation but also in building trust, transparency and resilience into their global value chains. As we continue to execute Strategy 27 at full speed, we remain focused on delivering sustainability solutions that drive measurable outcomes for clients and stakeholders.”
