SGS to Join Leading Experts at Paris Climate Summit as Sole TIC Industry Voice

June 30, 2025

SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is pleased to announce its participation in the upcoming Objective Decarbonization Summit taking place on 1 July 2025 at the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance in Paris, held under the high patronage of President Emmanuel Macron.

The Summit marks a significant milestone: ten years since the signing of the Paris Agreement. The event convenes public and private sector leaders to accelerate progress toward a just, ambitious and sustainable ecological transition under the guiding themes: Understand, Act, Finance and Cooperate.

SGS will take part in three key sessions during the summit. Alexandra Fabbro, Head of Group Sustainability Solutions at SGS, will join Berthold Goeke from Germany’s Climate Protection Department at the Federal Ministry for the Environment and Carl Dudek from Monaco’s Department of External Relations and Cooperation for a roundtable discussion on international decarbonization strategies, moderated by Isabelle Albertalli, Climate Director at BPI France. Alexandra will share insights on how SGS supports effective decarbonization efforts globally through verification, certification and technical services aligned with national and international standards.

Frédéric Schenk, Head of Industrial Assurance, will represent SGS in a roundtable focused on decarbonization through operational change to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve net-zero targets. He will discuss the company’s experience in supporting clients with projects that range from renewable energy to energy efficiency improvement and from new technologies to supply chain transformation.

David Cau, Head of Sustainability Reporting Services at SGS, will explain how the company strengthens the sustainable performance of value chains by bringing transparency and reliability to climate strategies, particularly through SBTi-aligned pathways, assurance of Scope 3 emissions and climate scenario analysis. He will also highlight SGS’s role as a trusted third party on key areas such as traceability, circularity, compliance and ESG risk management.

SGS’s comprehensive sustainability services are powered by its IMPACT NOW for sustainability offering, which focuses on climate, circularity, nature and ESG assurance. As part of its ambitious growth strategy, SGS anticipates generating at least CHF 600 million in incremental sales from sustainability by 2027, reflecting significant growth from CHF 400 million recorded in 2023.

In addition, SGS leads by example and was recognized by TIME as one of the most sustainable companies in the world for its corporate sustainability practices. This leadership aligns with its commitment to supporting industries and governments in achieving climate goals through trusted expertise and sustainable solutions.
