1、ILO Report: Nearly half a billion can’t find decent work
According to the annual report of World Employment and Social Outlook published by ILO, nearly half a billion people don’t have enough paid work, or lack opportunities to get paid work. The report analyzes the major labor market issue, including the unemployment, inefficient use of labor resources, poverty and inequality of incomes, etc.
2、Bangladesh submitted the bill on labor rights to EU
Bangladesh had decided to submit a draft of action plan to the EU on labor rights and interests. The government of Bangladesh announced that the revision of the 2018 Labor Bill (revision) will be completed by 2020 according to the nine action plans proposed by the ILO.
3、The supply chain of Vietnam was affected by coronavirus
According to a Reuters report, Industry and Trade Ministry of Vietnam said that due to the coronavirus, manufacturers of the automobile, electronic and mobile phone industries run into difficulties in obtaining materials. Manufacturing industry in Vietnam are undergoing supply chain issues due to the epidemic of the coronavirus, and it could lead to production delays of Samsung's phones.
4、Secretary of LWB predicted unemployment rate in HK could rise to 4%~5%
On Feb 2, 2020, the secretary of LMB (Labour and Welfare Bureau) said, the unemployment rate in Hong Kong could rise to 4%~5% because of the epidemic of the coronavirus. The latest statistics form LMB show that the unemployment rate in Hong Kong rose to 3.4% from November to January.
